“I think the imagination is the single most useful tool mankind possesses.” - Ursula K. Le Guin

I’m an artist, scientist, and writer based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

My art is largely inspired by my dreams. I grew up among the vistas of the southwestern US where both wilderness and outer space feel close at hand, and the wonder evoked by these sights remains integral to my artmaking. Blending traditional and digital techniques, my work focuses on animals, nature, and mythical themes, imbued with a sense of both whimsy and mystery. By making and sharing art, I hope to offer others a window into a reimagined world.

I am also a science writer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where I chair the institute’s Design Affinity Group. I am passionate about bridging scientific and artistic viewpoints; my work has been featured by the Nature family of scientific journals and by Harvard Medical School News. I have organized events to enable scientists to explore visual, imaginative perspectives and to leverage design principles in their work. I’m always interested in new projects that bring art and science together, so if you’re interested in collaborating, get in touch.
